Well I havent been feeling the best this weekend - I have been pretty good to get away from the dreaded flu that has been hitting most of my friends this winter - I managed to only have a head cold - which is not so bad - just a very sore head & lots of sneezing! So I thank my lucky stars!
I managed to finish the Guest Designer Sketch - Lynn Shokoples - at Colorful Creations. It was lovely to complete another page and get started on some great challenges that are in store at CC.
Here is the sketch:-
Here is my page:-
These photos are series of photos I took of Tommi the morning of his first day of preschool. Since this is one of many I have decided to journal on the next page when I scrap the other photos. He looked so cute in his little shirt & new bag! I really enjoyed the sketch using my Simple Stories Awesome paper pack, some Dusty Attic cogs & dry embossed cardstock.
Well I planned to scrap a little more today but was feeling very ordinary *sad face but plan to get some more done during the week.
Trust you are all enjoying your weekend!
Happy Days!

Well another month has gone by very
quickly and here we are at the first of the month – ALREADY!
I had fun creating a page with my
October Afternoon paper pack – especially fussy cutting some of the characters
from the page. I have now created two
pages with the same pack and loved keeping in with the theme of the photos of
my daughter.
My event this month at Colorful
Creations is to create a RECIPE for a monthly challenge. I have listed a number of ‘ingredients’
for the ‘recipe’ to get the creative juices flowing:-
·
Texture and/or Embossing
·
Stitching
·
Minimum of 5
circles
·
Journaling
·
Gems
·
1 Fussy Cut
element (this can be ANYTHING as long as you find an item to ‘fussy cut’ from
your paper stash)
Here is my example:-
-
I
have embossed my cardstock in the background and I have embossed a strip of
cardstock on the LHS of the photos.
-
My
stitching is found as x-stitch on the rings of two circles
-
I
have used a combo of ring & solid circles
-
The
journaling is surrounding the circles
-
Gems
are found on some flowers on bottom RHS of the page
-
The
Fussy cuts are found around the page i.e. girl with balloons, butterfly and the
dog.
So check it out http://colorfulcreations.ning.com/events it would be fantastic to see your pages and join a group of fellow scrapbook enthusiasts!
PS. Just to entice you a little more – if you join in the fun at CC you
will be in the running to win a RAK from me!!

You have until Sunday July 29th at midnight
CST to complete challenges!
Can’t wait to see your creations!
If you complete my challenge, make sure you link it up at the bottom of my post, comment on my blog (i.e. hey rach I completed your page and it was so much fun!) so you will have a chance to win a RAK from me!

What would a blog hop be without something fun to “hop”
around for?
Let’s go on a TREASURE HUNT!
Each DT member will give you a product or item from your stash to find on the hunt.
When you find the product, gather it, and at
the end you will find a fun challenge to do at the Colorful Creations Blog!
For your "Summer Treasure Hunt" my product is

CHIPBOARD
It can be in any shape, lettering, colour,
painted or plain.
As long as it is made from chipboard!
Make sure to leave a comment at each blog once you get

COLORFUL CREATIONS – DESIGN TEAM
Well another month has gone by very quickly and a lot has
happened since the last time I posted.I am very excited to announce I have been accepted as a DESIGN TEAM MEMBER at COLORFUL CREATIONS! With the encouragement from my friend Fi, I decided to apply for Design Team call (back in June) and was delighted to hear I made the cut – Yeh! Colorful Creations has been a lot of fun for me over the last 3 months and I have enjoyed the cyber atmosphere over there for a while now. I am looking forward to being a part of a lovely group of people who love scrapbooking just as much as I do.
I would encourage anyone to play along at Colorful Creations
as they have so many different challenges to try. Since all the events are monthly challenges
it gives you the chance to work on as many as you like within a reasonable time
period. Try your hand at sketches, recipes,
tags, cards, colour combos and heaps more.
Since it is the first of the month I have my first EVENT CHALLENGE to
post! Yeh!
My event is to create a RECIPE for a monthly challenge. The page must include all “ingredients” of
the following recipe:-

1 Border Punch
·
1 Stamp or Rub-on
·

I used a
‘leaf’ rub-on next to my photo
I have 10
flowers (including the flowers on my brads)
I have 2

What a great weekend! It was wonderful to see all the lovely ladies once again at Fi's Scrapbook Retreat. This is about 7 years in a row that some ladies have attended. I have missed a couple over the years but have been for the last 2 years and it gets better every time. We have plenty of laughs, lots of food (oh boy is there lots of food!), great scrap challenges, lack of sleep and we all hope to get plenty of pages done - and if not - it didn't matter!
One particular challenge I REALLY enjoyed was to create a page with 2 pieces of printed paper that you would not normally use i.e. we called it 'ugly' paper LOL! Uno the ones in your stash that you bought and thought you could use - well it was a great challenge.
Here is the 'flower' paper - I used up the plaid paper as 'background' so unfortunately didnt get to take a photo of it.
Here is the page I created with the 'ugly' paper. You were allowed to use cardstock from your stash but you had to use nothing but the printed paper. I had 2 pieces - one had flowers covered all over it and the other was plaid - yep - you heard me - plaid mmmmm....
I used the 'flower' paper by fussy cutting the different colours and used eyelets/split pins to make the petaled flowers on the bottom. The 'plaid' I used my martha stewart floral punch and created the 'grass' and used it on top of the page under the cardstock. It actually worked in well with a series of photos I have from my travels in WV in 2005 during fall. So as you can see - its amazing what you can do to challenge one-self!
Here's Fi with her 'blank' canvas getting ready to create a fab page:-
Heres a couple more pics of lovely ladies from the weekend
Thanx Fi for a wonderful weekend - I know its alot of work for you to organise but it truely is a great way to get us girls together for some fun & frivolity!
