Welcome to the Colorful Creations Jingle Bell Blog Hop! If you have come here from COLORFUL CREATIONS blog then welcome! If you have stumbled across this by chance and want to play along then please go back to COLORFUL CREATION and start from the beginning.

This is your first stop on the hop. If you have stumbled across this by chance and want to play along then by all means do so!

Jingle Bell Hop

Christmas is my most favorite time of the year. It is the celebration of Christ’s birth. It is also the most giving time of the year. Everyone seems to be in such great moods this time of the year!

So in celebration of the Christmas season we are hosting a Design Team Blog Hop. You are to visit each team member’s blog to see the Christmas inspiration they have for you. There is only one project you are required to do and that is the CC Blog Hop project which requires you to use the color combo below and create a Christmas layout. You are to use the colors below and create ANY project fitting the criteria given. It can be a layout, card, mixed media project or altered item. The sky is the limit! If you do a layout, your pictures do not have to be Christmas pictures but your papers must!

Please use at least 3 colors from this combo. You may use them all.

Once your project is completed, please return to CC upload it to the gallery, tag it JBH2012 and then upload it to this event.

My inspiration is this door hanger that I made!  I covered some Kaiser board hanger with a Kaiser Xmas Paper Pack and strung them together with some ribbon.  I recieve many comments from neighbours and friends who love the colourful creation!  Good luck with your creation and can't wait to see it in the gallery!

Check out what MO (Maureen), one of our members at Colorful Creations.  She has created a lovely mini album after being inspired by my door hanger - I think she has done a terrific job creating a beautiful Christmas treat!

If you want to check it out at Colorful Creations Gallery here is the link:-

Also as you hop along the way, you will find CLUE WORDS on each of the Design Team member’s blogs. Once you have gathered all the words they will form a quote related to Christmas. These words should be BOLDED on each team member's blog! Tell us that quote is by EMAILING it to me at ourcolorfulcreations@gmail.com for an extra rak of scrap goodies!

I want to give you a great chance to win so here is my clue word - PEACE!  Good luck with the word find on everyone's blog!

The winner of the hop will be randomly selected and will win the beautiful Prima collection below.

(Embellishments will vary)

As always there are rules for playing!

Here are the rules for playing and winning:

1. You MUST be a member of Colorful Creations

2. You must become a follower of each CC team member’s blog and leave a comment on each blog.

Please make sure you visit the entire team today as some members are hosting additional blog challenges during the hop and offering their own extra goodies for you so the more you play the more chances you win!

All blog hop entries are due by midnight, CST, December 20th.

Have fun!!

Now hop on over to BRANDI'S  blog to see what she has in store for you. Below is our lineup list in case you get lost along the way. Have fun and dont forget to search for the clues on each team member's blogs, they will be in BOLD.

HAPPY DAYS!

Thursday 29 November 2012

It’s been a long month and I am looking forward to the kid’s finishing school and getting ready for the Christmas break!  So what would December be without some Christmas fun!  I have decided to do a ‘Christmas page’ for my recipe challenge this month at Colorful Creations BUT I haven’t restricted it to a Christmas theme.  The recipe has some great ingredients you can use for any type of theme page – I just took the easy route and made a page from some of my Christmas photos!

I have listed a number of ingredients’ for the ‘recipe’ to get the creative juices flowing:-

·         Red AND Green papers ONLY
·         Numbers
·         Minimum 2 photos
·         Metal AND Brads
·         Border punch
·         Scrunched up paper
·         Decorative ribbon (I used a ‘snowflake’ one under the basket)
Here are my example:-

These two sweet cherubs are of my godson and his sister from Xmas last year.  They are showing off their gifts I sent to them.

-          I have used a little poetic licence and the page does show some ‘cream’ but majority of the page should be RED & GREEN
-          I used a strip of numbers down the RHS of the page
-          I have two photos of my very sweet Godson & his sister
-          I have used a metal sign that says Noel & a heart brad
-          I scrunched up some paper and it looks like some ribbon ruffled
-          My decorative ribbon is the ‘snowflake’ looking one under the basket

So check it out http://colorfulcreations.ning.com/events it would be fantastic to see your pages and join a group of fellow scrapbook enthusiasts!

PS. Just to entice you a little more – if you join in the fun at CC you will be in the running to win a RAK from me!!

I also have a TAG CHALLENGE at CC and thought you might like to join in the fun and see what you can create - especially since we are approaching Xmas and everyone will need tags on their presees.

Here is my sample:-

This month I thought I would add a little ‘recipe’ to the tag and help you create one (or three).  How bout you add these few little items to your tag:-

·         Decorative ribbon
·         Flower/s
·         Metal brad
·         Felt
·         A Christmas or festive word

Enjoy Creating!

TAG CHALLENGE!

This month I thought I would put a little twist into my Tag challenge at Colorful Creations -just to make it a little more interesting.  I have created a Name Place Tag for your table setting that can be used for any theme – birthdays, weddings, thanksgiving and of course - I am getting in early - I have created one for Christmas!

Here is my sample:-

Then after you have used the name tag on the table you can then double up with the tag and hang it on your Christmas tree for decoration!  On the back of the tag I have written Reflections of 2012 – this way you can write down all the fun things that happened all year and then when you pull it out to decorate the tree next year – it’s like a little mini time capsule!

AND if that’s not enough – I have created a card with the Name Place ‘Plate’ when you are finished with it! Waste not want not I always say!

How simple is that!!

So head on over to Colorful Creations and get a head start on those Christmas decos!

HAPPY DAYS!

SEE YOU THERE!

Also, I am celebrating my Grandmas 90th Birthday this weekend!  Its a milestone and a half and we are happy to be together with her as a family and especially with our extended fams!  She absolutley looorves flowers so I thought it would be appropriate to make her a flower card with lots of flowers on it LOL!  Colorful Creations has a challenge called PLUS ONE and since it is PINK-TOBER this month I thought it would be great to make the card in PINK!

I put a ribbon on top so she can use it as decoration and put it on a door handle.

The card will be signed by all the family so she can have it forever!!

There you have it!  Run along to Colorful Creations and get Cropping!!

TAG CHALLENGE!
Let’s get SPPOOOOKY this month with TAGS.  Since we are in October I thought it would be a good opportunity to create a tag to add to any page, gift or home décor for Halloween!!

Check out my Tag for the Challenge over at CC.

I had alot of fun with this tag and am looking forward to adding it to one of my pages of many Halloween photos I have to scrap! LOL!

Happy Days!
It’s time to get hairy scary this month and join the Halloween Fun!  Australia usually doesn’t celebrate Halloween but it is catching on more and more every year!  We see many children dressing up in our local neighbourhood and see plenty of neighbours decorating their houses and joining in the fun!

Sooooo, u guessed it - my Challenge for Colorful Creations this month is 'Halloween' themed!  My husband and I never really understood halloween since it seemed more like an American Holiday but we were lucky to experience the holiday when we visited USA with our children a few years ago.  These photos are one of many that I took the day we walked the streets of West Virginia on the Halloween Holiday.

My recipe Challenge for the month is as follows:-

  • Halloween Theme
  • The colour Orange
  • Minimum 2 photos
  • Use the word Spooky/Creepy/Scary/Bizarre/Kooky
  • Create your own element i.e. my example is the spider and the witch head.
  • Tearing/Ripping
Take jump over to CC and join in!

Saturday 8 September 2012

It’s a beautiful Spring day here today and was happy to be outside in the sun enjoying some rays! After playing with dirt in the garden then go shopping for a new BBQ (boy didn’t realise there were so many – some were full on outside kitchen set up!) I managed to finish this page for another challenge I have at Colorful Creations - I call it TAG MAD!

Now to explain my tag mad - I am doing a regular tag challenge at CC and decided to put a twist on it this month and encourage members to use their tag on a page.  The only criterion was to have the words “moments” on the tag.
Here is my tag for the Tag:-

Here is my page:-

So what do you think? Join in the fun at CC - there are heaps of different challenges for you to choose from - so come along and get some creating done!

HAPPY DAYS!

Saturday 1 September 2012

We are once again at the beginning of the month and there is SPRING in the air!!  It has been a wonderful feeling with the sun on my face & a bit of warmth in the air!  Now that it is 1st of the month its Colorful Creations Challenge time!  My job as DT is to create a RECIPE for a monthly challenge.  I have listed a number of ingredients’ for the ‘recipe’ to get the creative juices flowing:-

·         Ric Rac

·         Stitching

·         Minimum of two photos

·         Journaling

·         Metal (this can be a brad)

·         1 Fussy Cut element (this can be ANYTHING as long as you find an item to ‘fussy cut’ from your paper stash)

I ended up creating two pages this challenge (it is not part of the challenge) because I couldn’t fit all four photos on the one page!  Plus I wanted to keep in with the same theme!

Here are my examples:-

-          The Ric Rac is on the top & bottom of the printed paper

-          My stitching is found as x-stitch on the top & bottom of page 1

-          I have two photos of my very handsome brother LOL!

-          The journaling is found on page 2

-          My metal is a green plain tag on page 1 & a brad in the flower on page 2

-          The Fussy cuts are found around the page i.e. Boy with the aeroplane, kite, jar etc

So check it out http://colorfulcreations.ning.com/events it would be fantastic to see your pages and join a group of fellow scrapbook enthusiasts!

PS. Just to entice you a little more – if you join in the fun at CC you will be in the running to win a RAK from me!!

HAPPY DAYS!

Wednesday 22 August 2012

I have been mega busy with work of late so have managed to squeeze in a page or two!
Our Guest Designer-Christa Paustenbaugh at Colorful Creations produced a lovely page from the sketch below:-

Here is my version of the sketch.

I used papers from chatterbox, Daisy D’s, Basic Grey & K&Co and some embellishments from Kaiser & Prima.  The white hexagons are from Screen Prints – they are printed on acetate and I think are quite effective.

This photo is part one of two of my DH step brothers & his grandma who live in Finland.  The second photo is a family portrait with the families combined.  My husband’s parents immigrated to Oz back in the late 60’s but all his family stayed in Finland. We have only met his Grandmother once but she certainly made an impression on me.  She is close to 100 and has survived a son (when he was only small), two husbands and a boyfriend!  She was living on her own up until about 2 years ago.  She was reluctant to move to a retirement home but is now thriving and has plenty of friends where she says she has to take care of them LOL!

I would love to have combined this challenge with Fi’s colour palette but it is part of the rules of engagement for CC – not that I mind of course because it gets me to do more pages!!! LOL!   So the other challenge was Fi’s colour combo and she added a twist – we had to include stitching, 2 or more brads and journaling.  I really enjoyed this challenge also because I used one of Fi’s sketches that I kept from a sketch challenge a few months back.  You could say I got my money’s worth from Fi LOL!  Anyway so as you can see I stuck with the colours for the first page so the two pages matched.

So here is Fi’s colour palette…

....Fi's sketch....

....and here is my page!

Well off to do more work - blah!
HAPPY DAYS!

Sunday 5 August 2012

Well I havent been feeling the best this weekend - I have been pretty good to get away from the dreaded flu that has been hitting most of my friends this winter - I managed to only have a head cold - which is not so bad - just a very sore head & lots of sneezing!  So I thank my lucky stars!

I managed to finish the Guest Designer Sketch - Lynn Shokoples - at Colorful Creations.  It was lovely to complete another page and get started on some great challenges that are in store at CC.
Here is the sketch:-

Here is my page:-

These photos are series of photos I took of Tommi the morning of his first day of preschool.  Since this is one of many I have decided to journal on the next page when I scrap the other photos.  He looked so cute in his little shirt & new bag!  I really enjoyed the sketch using my Simple Stories Awesome paper pack, some Dusty Attic cogs & dry embossed cardstock.

Well I planned to scrap a little more today but was feeling very ordinary *sad face but plan to get some more done during the week.

Trust you are all enjoying your weekend!

Happy Days!

Wednesday 1 August 2012

Well another month has gone by very quickly and here we are at the first of the month – ALREADY!
I had fun creating a page with my October Afternoon paper pack – especially fussy cutting some of the characters from the page.  I have now created two pages with the same pack and loved keeping in with the theme of the photos of my daughter.

My event this month at Colorful Creations is to create a RECIPE for a monthly challenge.  I have listed a number of ingredients’ for the ‘recipe’ to get the creative juices flowing:-

·         Texture and/or Embossing
·         Stitching
·         Minimum of 5 circles
·         Journaling
·         Gems
·         1 Fussy Cut element (this can be ANYTHING as long as you find an item to ‘fussy cut’ from your paper stash)
Here is my example:-

-          I have embossed my cardstock in the background and I have embossed a strip of cardstock on the LHS of the photos.
-          My stitching is found as x-stitch on the rings of two circles
-          I have used a combo of ring & solid circles
-          The journaling is surrounding the circles
-          Gems are found on some flowers on bottom RHS of the page
-          The Fussy cuts are found around the page i.e. girl with balloons, butterfly and the dog.

So check it out http://colorfulcreations.ning.com/events it would be fantastic to see your pages and join a group of fellow scrapbook enthusiasts!
