I have been mega busy with work of
late so have managed to squeeze in a page or two!
Our Guest Designer-Christa
Paustenbaugh at Colorful Creations produced a lovely page from the sketch
below:-Here is my version of the sketch.
I used papers from chatterbox, Daisy
D’s, Basic Grey & K&Co and some embellishments from Kaiser & Prima. The white hexagons are from Screen Prints –
they are printed on acetate and I think are quite effective.
This photo is part one of two of my DH
step brothers & his grandma who live in Finland. The second photo is a family portrait with
the families combined. My husband’s
parents immigrated to Oz back in the late 60’s but all his family stayed in
Finland. We have only met his Grandmother once but she certainly made an
impression on me. She is close to 100
and has survived a son (when he was only small), two husbands and a
boyfriend! She was living on her own up
until about 2 years ago. She was
reluctant to move to a retirement home but is now thriving and has plenty of
friends where she says she has to take care of them LOL!
I would love to have combined this
challenge with Fi’s colour palette but it is part of the rules of engagement
for CC – not that I mind of course because it gets me to do more pages!!! LOL! So the other challenge was Fi’s colour combo
and she added a twist – we had to include stitching, 2 or more brads and
journaling. I really enjoyed this
challenge also because I used one of Fi’s sketches that I kept from a sketch
challenge a few months back. You could
say I got my money’s worth from Fi LOL!
Anyway so as you can see I stuck with the colours for the first page so
the two pages matched.
So here is Fi’s colour palette…
....Fi's sketch....
....and here is my page!
Wonderful job on both pages I think! I agree those white hexagons look extremely effective & I love your scrolls on your second layout.FWAB flourishes I think they are...
